Huzzah! Duncan and I have kegged the Galaxy IPA, and while we were doing that we disassembled the old keezer and moved it outside and then took the brass taps from the beer tower apart and are now baking in my oven in oxyclean.
I’m amazed at how much crap has come off already! Essentially the low heat and the caustic cleaner is dissolving the years (presumably) of grime and nastiness and clearing out the gross and then I will be passivating all of the parts.
The original plan was to install new taps, but the shanks on these taps are much smaller then the taps I have, but Duncan has said these will be serviceable with a few new seals and some love.
