I only have today off this week and I have certainly made the best of it. Mel and I ran some errands this morning and cleaned up the house so tonight became a Brew Day.
Todays brew is a Chocolate Stout
2lb Marris Otter
4oz Roasted Barley
2oz Flaked Wheat
1oz Williamette – 60 min
3oz Coaoca Powder
Mashed in at 154 and holding strong 152-155 on my stove top.
And the beer pictured here is the Oatmeal Stout I recently made.
I think it turned out quite nicely, a little roasty but good. I think the body is a little watery but I topped up the fermenter a little too much so I think that is what happened there. Either way though I find it quite drinkable and much nicer then the first stout I made.
Now it’s round three, lets see how it goes. (so far it’s going probably the best since I have started doing all grain)
