This years hops had a bit of a later start, the ground was still quite cold and not much of use was growing in the hop beds untill a few weeks ago. But now as you can see they are coming along nicely! They are now in the third year of growth and the difference is amazing. The binds are about 1/4″ thick and growing quickly with very dark leaves to suck up as much of the sun (which they get full sun from 7-9pm atm) they can. The Centennial on the right has two main shoots coming up and a third on it’s way so i have setup three lines for them to climb respectively. For Melissa and I’s wedding this summer i will be cutting down some of the hops (there is 4 more beside these that are Duncans hops aswell) to use for decoration after i liberate a majority of the cones for making some tasty wet hopped beers.
