Phillips Brewing Company Winter Snowcase day 16
Slipstream Cream Ale
Before I became a craft beer geek I loved a good Cream Ale, even though my go to was usually a lager of some sort. But I found they all had that interesting taste with really creamy mouth feel to them and they seemed to be a little sweeter compared to the lightly hopped lagers I drank (if they had hops at all for that matter) until I tried this one for the first time.
It poured out of the bottle with a medium brown – coppery color to it and it had a nice aroma of sweet toffee and the flavor’s were quite malty with some sweet caramel and biscuit and on the sweeter side for a finish. I find it a little hard to pull any hop flavor out on this although I do find it to be a quite enjoyable beer with what I would call a medium carbonation.
I would definitely recommend this to someone who likes an ale without all the hops and bittering. Quite an enjoyable way to wind down.
I would buy this beer again.
Only 8 more days of this!! It’s been a blast so far, and since I’ve started home brewing and enjoying craft beers more seriously it’s amazing some of the things you don’t notice the first time around. I’m definitely learning lots and loving it all!!
